Sanders Family Farm is on an urban site in the Mandarin area of Jacksonville. We are growing delicious produce, herbs, and a variety of decorative plants, sold at our community farm stand on Hood Road. The farm stand (open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from April through November) also sells produce from our farm neighbors, as well as boiled green peanuts harvested in Citra and cooked here on the farm. Our use of natural practices includes vermiculture, composting, heirloom varieties, seed saving and sharing, living soil production, integrated pest management, etc. We don't use genetically modified materials for food produce. We do not use synthetic material on soil or plants. We actively engage in sustainable and green practices in our work.
We grow primarily in-season crops. We look forward to serving your family some of the same delicious treats you remember from your childhood. Tangy, juicy tomatoes, spicy and sweet peppers, and satisfying, savory beans. Those flavors and so many more are still available to beckon your family to the kitchen table again. We welcome your interest in locally grown foods. See you soon!
